Two displays: the Round Table's free Parsonage Lane fireworks on Sunday 1 November at 6.30pm, and the rugby club's on 7 November, £25 a family.

Bishop’s Stortford has two fireworks displays in 2026. The Round Table’s free Parsonage Lane Fireworks is on Sunday 1 November, with fireworks at 6.30pm (Bishop’s Stortford Round Table). The rugby club’s ticketed display is on Saturday 7 November at Silver Leys, Hadham Road, CM23 2QE, with gates at 5pm and fireworks at 7pm (Bishop’s Stortford RFC on Ticket Tailor).

The quick answer

  • Free display: Parsonage Lane Park, Sunday 1 November, gates 5.30pm, fire show 6pm, fireworks 6.30pm. No tickets; bucket collection, suggested £15 for a family of four.
  • Ticketed display: Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club, Silver Leys, Saturday 7 November, 5pm to 10.30pm, fireworks 7pm. Family (2 adults and 2 children) £25, over-16s £10, under-16s £5, under-3s free. Advance e-tickets only, no cash at the gate.
  • Parking: none at Silver Leys. Keep Patmore Close clear; the fire and ambulance services use it.

Updated 3 October: the rugby club has put its 2026 display on sale for 7 November, after having no date on 1 October; and the Round Table’s free Parsonage Lane display on 1 November, which this page previously missed, is added below.

Parsonage Lane Fireworks, Sunday 1 November (free)

Bishop’s Stortford Round Table says its Parsonage Lane Fireworks “will be back this year on 1 November 2026”, at Parsonage Lane Park (Bishop’s Stortford Round Table):

2026
Date Sunday 1 November 2026
Gates 5.30pm
Fire show 6pm, fire dancing and fire eating by Taylor Made Events
Fireworks 6.30pm, by Illuminatus Pyrotechnics
Tickets None. Non-ticketed, with a bucket collection
Suggested donation £15 for a family of four

There is a bar selling teas, coffees, mulled wine, beer and soft drinks, and food from several vendors. Donations can be made in cash, by card at the entrance, or by text (text BSSRT to 70470 to give £2). The money goes to the Bishop’s Stortford Round Table Charitable Trust Fund (registered charity 1187389), to pay for next year’s display, with any surplus to local charities. The Round Table has not published parking arrangements.

Bishop’s Stortford RFC display, Saturday 7 November (ticketed)

The 2026 listing, titled “Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club Fireworks Display 2026”, went live on the club’s Ticket Tailor box office, which is where its own ticket domain, bsrfctickets.co.uk, now redirects. It sets out:

2026
Date Saturday 7 November 2026
Times Gates 5pm, fireworks 7pm, event ends 10.30pm
Venue Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club, CM23 2QE
Family (2 adults + 2 children) £25
Over 16s £10
Under 16s £5
Under 3s Free
Fireworks Essex Pyrotechnics
Road closures None published

The evening is billed as “a spectacular evening of family fun, food & fireworks”: children’s funfair rides, food trucks, a sweet stall, hot drinks, a bar, live music and light-up toys before the display, then a DJ and live bands after it. Prices are the same as in 2025.

The display is not in the club’s own events calendar at bsrfc.co.uk, which lists rugby fixtures only, so the Ticket Tailor page is the one to trust.

The rules that catch people out

From the club’s ticket page:

  • Buy in advance. E-tickets only, scanned on arrival, and no cash sales at the gate.
  • No on-site parking. Park considerately and do not block Patmore Close.
  • No sparklers, no dogs, no re-admittance.
  • Cash and card are accepted inside, except £50 notes.
  • No refunds unless the fireworks cannot go ahead.

The club advises arriving early to avoid queues.

Getting there and parking

Silver Leys is on Hadham Road, on the west side of town. With no parking at the ground, plan to walk from the town centre or be dropped off; tariffs for each council car park are on our parking page, and anything closing on the night will be on the roadworks and travel page.

The dates the rugby club display has run

The Silver Leys display is an annual fundraiser for the club. Its own ticketing shows the run:

Year Date Notes
2023 Saturday 4 November The 20th annual display
2024 Saturday 2 November Billed as the “21st Annual Fireworks Display”
2025 Saturday 1 November Gates 5pm, fireworks 7pm
2026 Saturday 7 November Gates 5pm, fireworks 7pm

The other Saturday it could have taken, 31 October, is already a home match day at Silver Leys: the 1st XV play Plymouth Albion that afternoon.

The planning had looked uncertain. On 31 August 2026 the club posted “BSRFC Fireworks 2026 - Lead Organiser needed”, saying that after two years leading “our major fund-raising event”, Kate Tanfield had stepped down (Bishop’s Stortford RFC). The event is now on sale for its usual early-November slot.

Nearby displays

  • Harlow, free. Harlow Council’s bonfire and fireworks night is at the Showground in Harlow Town Park on Sunday 1 November 2026: bonfire lit 6.15pm, fireworks 6.30pm. Fifth Avenue and parts of Park Lane and School Lane close from 5.15pm to 8.30pm; School Lane, Altham Grove and Wych Elm car parks are free 6pm to 8pm and the Water Gardens car park from 4pm to midnight. Post Office Road car park is shut for bus station works (Harlow Council).
  • Hertford. The Go Hertford listing for a low-noise display at Waterford Village Hall was still dated 2 November 2025 on 3 October 2026, so there is no 2026 date yet (Go Hertford).
  • Stansted Mountfitchet: gone. The parish council says it can no longer host a display, because Burnt Mill Academy Trust got Football Association approval for an astro pitch on the Forest Hall School field, and Elms Farm and the Recreation Ground were both ruled out as unsafe. The 2024 display, the first since 2019, drew over 3,200 people (Stansted Mountfitchet Parish Council).

Bonfire night itself falls on Thursday 5 November 2026.
